  • What does a hair test measure?
The hair test measures the mineral and heavy metal content of the hair. This gives a snap shot of the previous 3 months of mineral and heavy metals in the body. A lot of information can be obtained from these levels by comparing the ratios of minerals to each other and to a lesser extent to the heavy metals. For example, a higher level of calcium to phosphorus can indicate a higher metabolism and vice versa. Useful information includes metabolism, stress response, the health of the adrenal system, thyroid system, sex hormone systems, liver health, immunity and much more.

  • What if my hair is dyed?
Your hair will need to be free of dye for testing. Leave a portion of hair undyed under the back of your hair for 6-12 weeks before taking a sample. Alternatively, you can use pubic or underarm hair instead.
